Development of processes

Our traditional focus is on process development. We design and install complex manufacturing processes and systems, put them into operation and optimize their performance. With our various CAD systems, we process native data in different formats. Our simulation applications also allow us to investigate loads and strengths. In addition to static analyses, dynamic investigations such as crash simulations are also carried out. As a system supplier, we also support the process development of our castings with mold filling and solidification analyses.

Product development

Based on the product geometries and specifications provided by the customer, we develop improvements in terms of manufacturability and process capability, and realize material usage and cycle time. The aim is always to realize the product as efficiently as possible while completely fulfilling all specified requirements. Based on our extensive skills in process development, we also drive forward specific product development topics, e.g. in the field of e-mobility.

Industry 4.0

We are now using our 25 years of experience for the ever-increasing digitalization of product creation at ALBERT WEBER. The master computer systems in our production allow us to be more flexible despite the high degree of automation in our product development process. We hold the key to controlled series production in our own hands thanks to our in-house developed, in-depth process data feedback. Our automated processes enable us to manufacture highly complex products in large quantities and to continuously optimize production based on data.

Greener Manufacturing

One of the most important and largest components of “Emission Zero 2040” is the climate-neutral design of our product development. We therefore attach great importance to ensuring the recyclability of the materials we use. For example, our casting plant in Roding only processes secondary, i.e. recycled, aluminum. In addition, our requirements for energy, auxiliary materials and water are determined and continuously reduced. A holistic view of consumption, including the heating, ventilation and air conditioning of production and office areas, is being established in all our plants in order to continuously work towards the goal of climate neutrality.

Stages of a success story

At the age of 15, Albert Weber already knew what he wanted to be: an Entrepreneur. Taking over his father's farm was out of the question for him. Albert Weber is both a doer and a visionary, so he founds his own company soon after completing his apprenticeship.

This is the beginning of a success story that takes ALBERT WEBER to the top of the global automotive industry. A story with many groundbreaking milestones.

2023
Takeover of Ritter Leichtmetallguss in Weinstadt. The site has been manufacturing aluminum die-cast components for customers in the automotive and medical technology sectors for 65 years. Thanks to its geographical location close to our main customers, the security of supply for all locations can be further increased.
2023
Participation in
CellForm Hydrogen GmbH & Co. KG in Baienfurt.
An important step in our Emission Zero 2024
2021
Takeover of the Plauen and Roding sites of the Schweizer Group. Mechanical processing of die-cast parts. Thanks to its foundry, the Roding site enables us to obtain casting, machining and assembly from a single source. For us, this is an important step towards becoming a system supplier.
2021
Change of name from central functions to WEBER HOLDING GmbH.
2020
The Weber family brings the locations in Markdorf, Neuenbürg, Bernau near Berlin, Magdeburg, Hungary and the USA back into the family's ownership. This establishes the ALBERT WEBER brand and sets the course for the new Vision 2040 “Road to Emission Zero 2040”.
2018
Planned extension to the headquarters in Markdorf. Start of construction July 2018.
2017
The acquisition of Schaeffler Motorenelemente in Magdeburg at the beginning of 2017 is another important building block in Weber Automotive's international growth strategy.
2016
Investment company ARDIAN becomes a shareholder in Weber Automotive GmbH. The course is set for further growth and the founding Weber family retains a significant stake in the company.
2015
The plant in Neuenbürg is growing. By 2018, the production area will triple and 150 new jobs will be created. Major orders from Daimler, Porsche and VW make it necessary to further expand capacity. Albert Weber is investing an amount in the double-digit millions for this.
2014
Albert Weber opens a new plant in Bernau near Berlin. At the Brandenburg site, cylinder crankcases and other engine and transmission parts, for example, are machined on behalf of various manufacturers and suppliers.
2015
Weber Automotive acquires a majority stake in SaarOTEC in December 2015. The company, based in St. Ingbert, is one of the top 10 suppliers for the complete machining of engine blocks in Germany. The acquisition is an important component of Weber Automotive's international growth strategy.
2008
The global economy is in crisis and many competitors are stumbling. Albert Weber continues to grow and takes over the US plant of Görtz & Schiele in Auburn Hills/Detroit in 2008, thereby strengthening the US location.
2006
In ten years of research work, Weber Fibertech develops the E-LFT process, which is now patented, for the industrial production of lightweight components made of fiber composites for car body structures. The company starts series production in 2006.
2005
Daniel Weber takes over the management of Albert Weber's plant in Charleston in the south-east of the USA. His task: to build up and expand the still small site, find employees and acquire new customers. GM and Cummins place major orders with Albert Weber.
1999
From 1997, a new technology center is built at the Markdorf site - modern industrial architecture with concrete, steel and lots of glass. The halls with a floor space of around 40,000 square meters house development and production on several levels.
1996
Albert Weber takes over the Jung company in Neuenbürg and expands its product range in the field of drive components. The takeover marks the beginning of international expansion. In 1996, Albert Weber employs around 300 people at four locations in Germany, Hungary and the USA.
1987
Weber seizes the opportunity to take over Schramme GmbH, along with the land and buildings, production equipment, customers and employees. Albert Weber now employs a total of around 100 skilled workers and further expands its production capacities.
1976
Albert Weber takes over Kyburz KG, where he completed his apprenticeship as a toolmaker from 1964-1968. At the age of just 26, he is now at the head of a company with a total of 45 employees.
1969
Albert Weber starts his own business with a second-hand lathe in his father's chicken coop. He was soon producing complex turned parts for MTU and ZF Friedrichshafen. This was the start of a brilliant success story.
